Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

in Clearwater, FL

It is common for children to feel nervous or anxious when visiting the dentist. Dr. Gyles is happy to discuss options to help your child feel comfortable and at ease during their dental visit.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous Oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is administered in the office through a mask placed over the nose. It’s incredibly safe and a great alternative to sedation. It helps anxious children relax and be more accepting of dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, crowns or other soft tissue procedures. After treatment is complete, and we remove the mask, your child will feel back to normal after a few breaths of fresh air and can return to their normal scheduled activities for the day.

General Anesthesia

For children who may be nervous and unable to sit still, or for those that need more extensive dental treatment, no worries. Dr. Gyles is very experienced in providing dental care with general anesthesia administered by an anesthesiologist. Using general anesthesia will help your child sleep through the dental procedure so that they don’t feel any uncomfortableness.
